Our Purpose and Focus

The Claire Giannini Fund supports pre-selected programs, conducted by public charities or governmental entities, that promote the health and well-being of young people under 18.  From 2012 through 2014, the Fund has emphasized the following areas:

  • Medical research activities at leading Northern California universities/institutions focusing on the practical application of leading-edge technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of eye and ear diseases affecting young children
  • Programs that serve and empower girls in Monterey County and Santa Cruz County, California
  • Early childhood education programs provided by selected colleges in Monterey County and Santa Cruz County, California, for children whose parents or guardians are students
  • Programs serving children and teens living in the Kansas City, Missouri, metropolitan area
  • Prevention of violence affecting children and teens in Monterey County and Santa Cruz County, California
